To better understand, let’s briefly classify the marking types clearer:

Engraving and Etching

  • Laser Engraving: Removing metal material with precision. Ideal for intricate text, logos, and barcodes.
  • Laser Etching: Faster than engraving; less deep but effective for high-volume tasks. Provides good legibility and permanence.

Indent Marking (Dot Peen)

Indents the surface mechanically with controlled pins. Reliable for heavy-duty, corrosion-resistant, permanent marks common in automotive, manufacturing, or aerospace industries.

Printed / Ink Markings

  • Inkjet: Applies ink directly; fast but semi-permanent, suitable for quick marking in controlled conditions.
  • Printed Labels: Temporary, quick solutions adding flexible labels to products. Allow easy mark changes but lack permanence.

Depending on your project’s specific marking, readability, permanence, and budget demands, picking the right method leads to better functionality, cost-efficiency, and success.
