How to Print and Mark on Clear Plastic

Preparation and Setup

Before marking clear plastic, proper preparation is key to achieving sharp, durable, and high-contrast results. Choose the right plastic — acrylic, polycarbonate, PETG, or mylar — depending on your application.

If you are using handheld inkjet spray printing or laser marking, ensure the machine settings and marking materials are compatible with the selected plastic.

Maintain a stable room temperature and humidity around 50%, as this helps prevent smudging and ensures consistent results.

Tip: Always start with a clean surface. Dust, oil, or fingerprints can reduce ink or laser adhesion and blur the mark.
