Laser cutting machine is now more and more widely used. Laser cutting machine can be used to cut metal plates of various thicknesses, and laser cutting machine can also be used to cut galvanized plates. Galvanized sheet is a common material used in manufacturing. Galvanized steel plate is coated with a layer of metal zinc on the surface of steel plate to prevent corrosion on the surface of steel plate and prolong its service life. It is mainly used for home appliance shells, civil chimneys, kitchen utensils, etc. Is this material suitable for laser cutting machines?

Generally, for galvanized sheet, laser cutting machine can cut easily, and most organic and inorganic materials can be used. All kinds of metal materials commonly used in industrial manufacturing systems can be cut regardless of their hardness. There are no problems with copper, aluminum and their alloy plates.

What is the best way to cut galvanized sheet? Of course, laser cutting machine is used to cut galvanized sheet.

The processing methods of laser cutting machine include cold processing and hot processing. There are mainly sawing, wire cutting, water cutting, shearing, punching, drilling and other methods.

Metal processing with laser cutting equipment has become the main processing means of enterprises. Through high-density laser beam processing, the material can be rapidly melted, vaporized and ablated, or reach the ignition point at a specific time, and the material can be coaxially purged with high-speed air flow and beam to realize the cutting of the workpiece. Galvanized steel plate is coated with a layer of metal zinc to prevent corrosion on the surface of steel plate and prolong its service life. It is mainly used for household appliance shell, civil chimney, kitchen appliance, etc. Generally, for galvanized sheet, laser cutting equipment can easily cut, and most organic and inorganic materials can be used. All kinds of metal materials commonly used in industrial manufacturing systems can cut copper, aluminum and other materials alloy plates regardless of their hardness. During the processing of galvanized sheet, it is necessary to add auxiliary gas. The purity and pressure of the auxiliary gas directly affect the quality of the cutting section. The purity of oxygen used for cutting shall be above 99.6%. The higher the roughness and quality, the higher the cutting cost. When laser cutting equipment is used for cutting, nitrogen purity shall be above 99.5%. Improving the purity of nitrogen can ensure that the color of the slit will not change during the cutting of galvanized sheet. Laser cutting equipment has more advantages in cutting.

As we all know, the principle and function of galvanized steel plate is to protect the carbon steel inside through surface galvanizing. It is a kind of thin plate that is not easy to rust for a long time. Although this kind of steel plate is slightly more expensive than ordinary carbon steel plate, it is still cost-effective from the perspective of the cost of the whole product because it does not need to spray rust and other subsequent processes.

But after laser processing, the situation is different. From the perspective of auxiliary gas, there are generally three kinds of cutting processes for galvanized sheet, namely air cutting, oxygen cutting and nitrogen cutting.

Gas cutting: the advantage is that the processing cost is extremely low. You only need to consider the power cost of the laser itself and the air compressor. There is no need to generate high auxiliary gas cost, and the cutting efficiency on the sheet can match the nitrogen cutting. It is an economical cutting method. And efficient cutting methods. But its disadvantages are also obvious on the cutting surface. First of all, part of the bottom surface of the air cutting will produce burr, and the products after laser processing must undergo secondary processing such as deburring, which is not conducive to the entire production cycle of the product. Secondly, the gas cutting section is easy to turn black, which affects the product quality. Therefore, the advantages of laser processing without subsequent processing cannot be reflected. Therefore, in the processing of galvanized steel plate, many enterprises are not willing to choose the gas cutting method.

Oxygen cutting: This is the most traditional and standard cutting method. The advantage is that the gas cost is low. In the processing of carbon steel plate, it is not necessary to switch the auxiliary gas frequently, which is convenient for factory management. However, after oxygen cutting, there will be a layer of oxide skin on the cutting surface. If this product is directly welded with oxide skin, the oxide skin will fall off naturally after a long time. This is also one of the reasons why galvanized sheet welding is prone to false welding.

Nitrogen cutting: nitrogen is used for high-speed machining. Since the role of nitrogen is different from that of oxygen used for combustion, it plays a protective role, so the cutting part will not produce scale. Many companies attach importance to this advantage, so nitrogen is often used to cut galvanized steel plate. But the disadvantage of nitrogen cutting is here: because there is no protection on the cutting section, the product is easy to rust. In order to prevent the product from rusting, we have to spray it again. Therefore, it is a pity that the galvanized sheet purchased at a higher price does not show the characteristics of its galvanized coating.
