The Technology: What is Sub-Surface Laser Engraving (SSLE)?

To sell this product effectively, you must understand the “magic” that happens inside the glass. 3D crystal portraits are created using Sub-Surface Laser Engraving (SSLE) technology.

Unlike a standard Fiber or CO2 laser that marks the surface of a material, a Green Laser (532nm wavelength) is “transparent” to the glass. It passes through the surface without leaving a mark. However, when the beam reaches a specific, computer-controlled focal point inside the crystal, the energy density becomes high enough to create a tiny micro-fracture, or a “dot.”

Thousands of these tiny white dots, positioned with mathematical precision by the software, form the 3D image suspended in mid-air. Because the surface remains perfectly smooth, the image is protected forever. It will never fade, yellow, or wear away, making it a “lifetime” product. In the 2026 market, this “indestructible memory” is a powerful selling point for wedding anniversaries and memorial gifts.
