Unlike a standard Fiber or CO2 laser that marks the surface of a material, a Green Laser (532nm wavelength) is “transparent” to the glass. It passes through the surface without leaving a mark. However, when the beam reaches a specific, computer-controlled focal point inside the crystal, the energy density becomes high enough to create a tiny micro-fracture, or a “dot.”
